On Friday morning March 24, 2017, the sextet entered the house of legendary recording engineer Max Bolleman (Criss Cross Jazz) in Bilzen, Belgium. A few special vintage microphones were set up in the living room, no headphones needed. A big cable found its way upstairs to Bolleman’s control room. The recording was done using the direct analog method on tape, similar to the Blue Note style of recording. “When using tape, you can’t edit anything, what you hear is what you get! To me this fits the spirit of jazz.” - Gidon
